Counseling
NEIBH offers both immediate crisis counseling and ongoing individual, family and group counseling for any mental health or substance use issue. Our services are provided with priority to northeast Iowa residents. Accommodations are provided to those with disabilities or other barriers, including language.
Crisis Counseling
For immediate telephone crisis counseling and consultation, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, please call 800-400-8923.
Same-day services for a crisis are offered 24 hours, including after-hours and weekends, and may include a focused assessment, rapid stabilization, and information and referral, as needed.
Behavioral Health Counseling
NEIBH offers behavioral health counseling. Our therapists evaluate and make recommendations for individuals with a variety of mental health and substance abuse concerns. Having diagnoses in both mental health and substance abuse (co-occurring) is not unusual and NEIBH is able to address these concerns simultaneously because we are licensed and accredited to provide both mental health and substance abuse services.
We begin with a comprehensive intake assessment
People come to us for many different reasons. Some want only one appointment for an evaluation of their problems and recommendations. Others come to enter into longer-term therapy. All of our services are recovery-based and designed to help you find your path to recovery from whatever brings you to our door.
When you meet with your counselor, you will discuss the issues that cause you to seek services. You may choose to have significant others involved, or not. You and your counselor will identify your needs, wants, abilities, and the choices you have to accomplish your goals. With the help of your counselor, a recovery plan is developed. This plan may be accomplished in a few, or many, individual or group sessions that help place you firmly on your path to recovery. Your recovery is largely guided by your choices and the decisions that you make. We are here to help that process in partnership with you.
Our counseling services include:
- Outpatient Counseling
